.I can't say enough good things about "This i know".

I want to sound all  scholarly and erudite but my first response is I BLOODY LOVE IT!

With  this book Susannah honestly and generously opens up the story of her heart, the
losses that caused raw wounds and the balms that healed them. By telling her stories with tenderness, she helps me not only imagine how we might find our  way through our own hurts but how we might flourish on the other  side.

"This i know" shows how, with courage, Susannah has hand crafted her life from where she was shattered to where she is living a rich and juicy life.

It doesn't set out to be an envy making exercise however like many books about women's lives tend to be. Susannah does not gloss over any of the hard stuff she had to go through to get to where she is now, she tells about her mis-steps in a way that makes us safe to acknowledge our own vulnerabilities.

But she also celebrates her triumphs and gives us exercises to achieve and celebrate our own victories.

The realness and her well crafted words make  this a compelling read. I finished it in two sittings and started on it
again, straight away.  Susannah says (page 89) "It's a blessing to find writers whose words speak for us when we are mute and mine their own lives so we can better understand our own".  Susannah Conway just described how she is for me (with the added charm of humor and pms).  It feels good in your hands and is just the right size for your bag... mine will be lovingly underlined and quoted from for many years.  In the words from the great movie the Castle, "This is going straight to the pool room".

I have one quibble with Susannah who says (page 217) I'm not a activist or a politician, and I'm not able to have any direct impact on the areas of the world where help is needed"  Well i say bollocks.  By writing a book that shows a way out of the darkness, by making available to others the keys that unlocked doors and let sunshine back in to her life, Susannah offers people everywhere the chance to heal their hearts.  And in a world where greed and anger seem to be around every corner this is JUST the kind of impacting offering where help is needed.

I recommend this to people who are looking to make their lives a better place to live (and isn't that everyone?)

* DISCLAIMER - I have loved Susannah since doing both of her
Unravelling courses so have a big girly crush on her and wager you will too
once  you read this book
